It was: blah!

Okay let me make this very clear. This book was HORRIBLE. That is all I have to say.

It was plotless, endless, when something seemed to calm down another something came up and it just didn’t make any sense. Michaels’ is a terrible writer at least as this novel portrays. I can say that the first 30 pages were good. Ruby Crane is an aspiring writer at the age of 16. She’s popular now, she has a popular boyfriend and all the girls want to be like her. Interesting enough. She then is publicly accused of plagiarism. Ahh, cool. She runs away, even cooler. She ends up in her aunt’s little deserted town where nobody will really know her as Ruby Crane and adopts the name Georgie O’Dell. She first meets Rabbit (yes, I know), and they become instant friends. They go to the campfire place. She meets Jacob, a boy. You know what happens. Soon she can’t hide the fact that she loves books and opens up a little section with inspiring quotes in the Curious Cup, her aunt’s store. She makes weekly meetings to get the community involved (?). Then the guy who rents the store to Aunt Fin wants to build something else so the Curious Cup is being taken down. All of the teenagers in Whispering Oaks (the town) now like books so they protest (and Georgie writes a petition that says “kiss my book” to the owner like 30 times, so that’s their apparent slogan…). The lady that accused her finds her and Ruby’s plastered on the news. The people in the town at first don’t like her (causing her to dramatically say that plagiarism is wrong and she only did it because she wasn’t good enough). Jacob says her loves her on the last page (corny), he likes books too. Georgie tells Rabbit she’s beautiful because she’s not confident and then Rabbit gets a boyfriend. Oh, there’s a haunting as well. About a couple from long ago that had a forbidden love and that love is the same as Jacob’s and Ruby’s. She begins a new life in the high school with her new friends as Ruby, and forgets her old life. Its very stupid.
This summary actually compliments it really well. Just don’t read it, please.
