Books I Read in Dec. 2008

December 31, 2008

Here’s what I read this past month in chronological order:

By the way, reviews for all of these will come shortly.

1. Fallen Angels by Walter Dean Myers: Violent, sad, and good (at the end, especially).

2. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K Rowling: Really amazing. I am so late… but better late then never.

3. Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom: Inspiring, sad, beautiful.

4. Girl vs. Bear: Stories from the 80s by Lisa Kerr: I really enjoyed this!

5. Skeleton Creek by Patrick Carman: Scary and interesting.

6. In Your Room by Jordanna Fraiberg: Less than I expected, but still good.

Needless to say, it was a very productive month. Thank you, Winter Break, without I wouldn’t have read three of these.

Books I Read in Nov. 2008

December 12, 2008

This past month (you know, the one that ended 12 days ago) has been probably the least inspiring month and the most hectic at school.

My hiatus didn’t allow me to do my monthly “Books I Read This Month”, so I will do it now. 🙂

Books I Read in Nov 2008

1. Rumors: A Luxe Novel by Anna Godbersen

Truly amazing, couldn’t keep it down. How I love this series. I can’t wait for Envy (Jan. 2009).

2. Audrey, Wait! by Robin Benway

I liked this book quite a lot. It was cute and funny.

3. Far From You by Lisa Schroeder

I loved Lisa’s new book. She’s awesome. There’s a surprise surrounding this book coming up soon….. 🙂

Books I Read in September 2008

September 30, 2008

Here is a list of books I read in September 2008:

  1.  Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck (4 stars): Heart-wrenching and beautiful.
  2. Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin (3 ½ stars): I thought it’d be better but still charming.
  3. Sisters of Misery by Megan Kelley Hall (5 stars): Super, totally, without a doubt extraordinary.
  4. Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury (3 1/2 stars): Really interesting way to look at things, Bradbury’s writing could have been better paced. (Review coming soon for this book!)

What books have YOU read this month that is coming to a close? What did you like? What didn’t you like? Wigs & Makeup from SpiritHalloween Which of those do you recommend to others? Tell me in the comments!

List of Books I Read in August 2008

August 31, 2008

List of Books I Read in August 2008:

  1. Violet on the Runway by Melissa Walker (4 stars)
  2. Lost It by Kristen Tracy (4 ½ stars)
  3. Perfect You by Elizabeth Scott (4 stars)
  4. When It Happens by Susane Colasanti (4 ½ stars)
  5. I Heart You, You Haunt Me by Lisa Schroeder (3 stars)
  6. The Luxe by Anna Godbersen (5 stars)

My Favorite is The Luxe by Anna Godbersen although Lost It by Kristen Tracy was a Fresh Surprise. When It Happens by Susane Colasanti had a great Love Story and Perfect You by Elizabeth Scott had me Gasping For Air. Violet on the Runway by Melissa Walker makes me want to Read the Whole Series and I Heart You, You Haunt Me was a Realistic Touch to a Paranormal/Fatasy Topic.

Overall, August seems to have not been a very can’t-stop-reading-month but unlike most months, the stars are pretty high… Go YA!

What have you read this month that’s coming to a close? Were they any good? Which was your fave?
