Blogger Chat: Date & Important Info

January 1, 2009

Hey, all!

Happy New Year, first of all.

Thanks so much for the support you showed for this Blogger Chat.

Here’s all the info you need:

Who: Anyone! Book bloggers, book readers/lovers, authors, and their moms. 🙂

What: A Blogger Chat

Where: On Chatzy… at this link ->  click here to enter chatroom.

(You can bookmark it but I will remind you a day before and the day of the blogger chat also, so no worries.)

When: Wednesday, January 7, 2008 at 8pm eastern, 7 pm central, 6 pm mountain, 5 pm pacific.

Why: To get to know each other better as friends and to talk about whatever we’d like.

How: Joining the chat, of course.

I really hope to see all of you there! If it is successful this might become a monthly thing.

In other news, I just got into BookMooch so if you have an account then friend me! My profile:

Also, my 100+ Reading Challenge for 2009 starts today. I got kind of mad at myself for starting Shelter Me (I’m 40 pages in) before the year started, because I can’t use it for the challenge. But I started Living Dead Girl today and I’m almost done. All the books I read this year will be given at this page –>

A Blogger Chat: Yay or Nay?

December 30, 2008

Hello everyone!

I got the following idea because of The Page Flipper‘s Author Chats (which are awesome and you should check out). I have been thinking about holding a book blogger chat. It would involve basically any book blogger (or author, if they’d like to join us) in the YA world who would like to chat about whatever they’d like: books, music, TV, movies. It could be a cool way for us to ditch the robotized reviews to have a real-time talk and make friends with each other (or rather, make better friends).

It would be held on a chat site like chatzy or chatmaker at 8 pm eastern time one day between Jan. 5 and 11.

What I would like is if you could give me feedback on this, commenting which day from January 5 to the 11 is the best day for you to chat.

I really hope you guys like this idea. Leave all your thoughts in the comments!

New Year’s Resolution

December 24, 2008

I was tagged by Liv to share three of my New Year Resolutions.

Here goes:

1. Read more. Like 2-3 or more books a week.

2. Go out more and in turn make better friends. Enjoy life. Be a high-schooler.

3. Figure out what career I want to follow. I want to do something with books or forensics or both. Decide, decide, decide.

I tag:

Carol from Bookluver-Carol Reviews.

Dominique from The Book Vault.

Em from Em’s Bookshelf.

Merry Christmas, Happy holidays, and Happy New Year!

What’s on your Holiday Wishlist?

December 19, 2008

Hi booklovers,

Christmas, Kwanzaa, Chanukah, Three Kings Day, and any other winter holiday I am forgetting is right around the corner. So I have an easy question for you guys… what books are on your wishlist?

I know a large part of my wishlist is just books. (Including a bookshelf to fit them all!)

What books are on your wishlist for the holidays?

Leave your answers in the comments!

Books on my wishlist:

1. I Know It’s Over by CK Kelley Martin: the plot just looks incredible and the reviews coming back for this book are phenomenal. What did you expect?

2. The whole Harry Potter series: Need I say more than the title?

3. The whole Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series: I’ve watched both movies but incredibly haven’t read the books. I need this!

4. Death by Bikini by Linda Gerber: I have Death By Latte (contest win) and don’t have the first one. Plus, I love mysteries!

5. Before I Die by Jenny Downham: Aside from the great reviews this one has been getting, I just want a book that makes me see what other people go through.

6. The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold: It looks stupendous. Did you know it’s being made into a movie in 2009? Link here

7. In Your Room by Jordanna Fraiberg: It looks so cute and light, I want to read some real romance!

8. A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray: I see a girl carrying the last book in the series, The Sweet Far Thing, for like 2 weeks now (it’s an 800-page book). Wondering where I see her reading it? In the bathroom after 2nd period! It must be good… and the covers are beautiful.

What books are on your wishlist for the holidays? Any suggestions on what else I should put on my wishlist?

Girl Week Over At Reviewer X’s Place

December 17, 2008

Steph is freaking amazing. She’s having a week-long (awesome) event called Girl Week. Basically superb authors are stopping by with guest blogs and interviews… all pertaining to feminism and strong females! Of course, she couldn’t have stopped there… so she’s bringing in a crazy amount of book reviews and of course contests!

Click here to see the Table of Contents (aka everything that is happening).

So check on over until Dec. 21 and celebrate WOMEN! (Because uh, we rock.)

Edit: Here are some great things I’ve found so far on her blog:

This interview with Melissa Walker.

This guest blog, which is awesome, by CK Kelley Martin.

This interview with Libba Bray. She’s so cool.

This interview with Megan McCafferty. Amazing much?
